Do hESC actively produce telomerase?

Post by oxi » Tue Feb 03, 2015 1:51 am

Hello,

First excuse my background cause it's basically null.
I've read hIPSC have shorter telomere lengths than hESC. I understand this is due to hIPS coming from adult somatic cells but apparently hIPS don't naturally create telomerase, is this true? And do hESC produce it indefinitely so they won't hit the Hayflick limit ever until they differentiate?

Thanks
