My shotgun cost me $260, if I remember right, and that's for a military-spec riot gun.

I want to buy a .357 revolver for self-defense when I turn 21 next month; a hand gun is pretty easy to conceal.

Some pellet guns here cost that much, if you want a top-of-the-line model. Mine was much cheaper, at $45.

self-defense is unnecessary here, crime is pretty low, not too much worry

In my opinion, you can't be too careful. I have been in a few situations where I had to draw my knife, but each time the mere threat of razor-sharp steel was enough to persuade the attacker to back down, so I've never had to actually stab anyone.

With my pellet gun, I can place a head shot on a squirrel from seventy feet; how good can you shoot?
