Cell Aging

Post by Kyle » Mon Dec 19, 2005 9:24 pm

I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a reputable report on the effects of aging on cells. I have been researching it extenively, but have yet to find any amount of useful data.

Try to google it. With the word "senescence". I think you can find a lot.

I know how it feels, I came across with a similar term when searching for cancer and googled many times. Then I found the term.
Maybe you can type "cellular senescence" for specifying it.
I hope it is useful.

cell aging is actively examined nowadays and the process is called replicative senescence.

--> it's due to DNA damage and oxidative stress and telomere shortening that determine the cell to stop dividing.
