Intrinsic motivation.

The want to continue scientific development because you feel the need to, it's your destiny, you feel as though you were meant to (SAVE / DESTROY) THE WORLD!

i mean the enterprise hearth-felling. many of the new discovery is based on the feeling-as i know.
