What is the difference between homologous chromosomes and sister chromatids?

homologous chromosomes are two complemental chromosomes --> thus maternal chromosome number 14 and paternal chromosome number 14.

A sister chromatide is formed after replication and is thus a exact copy of the motherstrand.
