4 major subdivisions

:( If someone could please help me I would greatly appreciate help with understanding this so I can discuss with my son.

List the 4 major subdivisions for each of the four types of compounds within living organisms

heres are the most important organic compund withhin all living organisms.

- carbohydrates(alll sugars.....glucose,sucrose,frutcose.etc.)
-fats
-lipids(hormones,steroydes)
nucleic acid(DNA, RNA)

OK 4 categories:
- carbohydrates OK
- fats and lipids are the same
- Proteins were missing
- As the fourth: Nucleic acids, why not, I may want to go for salts though.

But the 4 major subdivision in those, beats me.

Out of curiosity, what were those subdivisions?
