Protein structure

Post by kanagasundar » Sat Sep 14, 2013 2:40 am

Hi guys,
I know that Protein structure related to their function. Certain protein usually have alpha helix is more prominent but certain protein have beta structure more prominent. My question is which amino acid is favourable to form alpha helix and beta structure? What function unique to alpha helix and beta structure?

I guess you don't have access to this article
http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1 ... 57B.d02t02
which is not much useful anyway...
This one is better:
http://mbe.oxfordjournals.org/content/1 ... l.pdf+html
http://www.biolib.cz/en/main/

Cis or trans? That's what matters.
