Propagation and Transfection of BHK cells?

Post by biologyonline123 » Wed Jul 31, 2013 3:26 pm

Hi all,

I'm going to transfect Baby Hamster Kidney Fibroblasts with an MMP9 expressing plasmid.

I wonder to ask what is the expected result of the 3 different transfection conditions and why? :? (i.e. which condition will produce MMP9 expressing cells)

3 conditions:
A. Untransfected cell (growth media only)
B. Control transfected cells (lipid alone, non-expressing)
C. MMP-9 transfected cells (DNA and Lipid, expressing)

Many thanks!

Hi,

we are a young biotech company from Germany and have developed a new kind of transfection reagent called Viromer.
Its a synthetic polymer , zero charged with an endosome escape mechanism. The advantages compared to other transfection reagents are: high transfection efficiency in hard to transfect cells like kidney fibroblasts as well as in standard cells, you can work with complete media (including FCS) without changing media, high reproducibility because Viromers form stable particles of 300-400nm in buffer.
If you are interested I may send a free sample to you. We provide three transfection reagents: for siRNA (Viromer BLUE, BLACK and GREEN) and for plasmids (Viromer RED and YELLOW).

Please write to: [email protected] (email address of our company).

Best wishes,

Olivia

A and B and negative controls to check for viability of your cells and your media (A) and the process of transfection (B)

Cis or trans? That's what matters.
