Gregor crossed a true breeding yellow, rough pea plant with a true breeding green, smooth plant. All of the off-spring were green, rough plants. He then used these F1 plants for back crosses to each parent. What are the genotypes and phenotypes of the offspring of these two back crosses?

This is one of the questions that was assigned that I'm unsure of. I don't even really know where to start with it. I'm a business major so I'm kind of lost when it comes to this kind of stuff.

think of it as multiplication, first list the alleles then FOIL them out...

I don't know what he means either because FOIL pertains to math where you have an equation like x^2+x+1, and then you factor it out to (x+1)(x+1), or (x+1)^2, then you FOIL it, which is simply multiplying firsts, outers, inners, lasts, so you would multiply the Xs, then x times 1, then the other x times the other 1, then multiply the ones, and you would end up with the orginal example. I don't know how that applies to here though?.
Saying that any two humans are exactly alike is like saying republicans have morals

well these are basically look like multiplication when you make the squares

(x+y)(x+y) = xx +2xy + yy
