Virus is simple but it's mechanism in pathogenesis is very amazing.

There are a lot of different bacteriophages. The phages from the T-family (it goes at least up to T7, but maybe more) are the best known, but there are plenty of others. Because of their target specificity there is some research to use them for targeted becterial cure (without the antibiotics side-effects), and they are also used for bacterial strain typing.

what did virus do is infect bacteria! then two pathways happen depended on the virus types.some can lead the bacteria break up and some can integrate their own dna into host's.

A lil bit addition:
integrate their own DNA or RNA, making the host products them till soooo many, then one gene signal would trigger them to make a lysis on the host altogether... :D

@greendog:
so, you favorite is Lambda? Mine is HIV.
