Gene Expressions

Hey, i have a question on Gene Expression. I need to know the definition, because I am making a scientific brochure, and need to write about Gene Expression... but there are too many definitions to choose from... please help.

Gene Expression is the variability in phenotypes. For example, I have brown hair, and so does my friend John. However, my hair is darker than John's. While we both have the same genotype for brown hair (for simplicity's sake, let's say homozygous dominant), we have different Gene Expression.
