Meiotic

Post by hoiki426 » Sat Nov 05, 2005 7:48 pm

I am now reading my text book and I have something that I don't understand.

1.) During metiotic division
Is the replication of chrosome ha[[en first or the possess of pairing happen first?

2.) I have heard that during meiotic division, the chrosome will crossover with each other so that every sperm has it unique set of chrosome
but the prossess od crossover happen at which stage?

first pairing happens and then halving the amount of DNA happens.

that's a random process in meiosis 1 and 2. The further away the chromosomes are, the higher the chance of crossing over.
