True or False? and more.

Post by BronYAurStomp » Wed Nov 02, 2005 7:59 pm

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to read and hopefully answer this.

True or False: We can get ATP energy from foods that don't contain sugar as our body converts proteins and fats into other compounds such as pyruvate which occur along the cellular respiration pathways.

Secondly, what other 2 final substances, in addition to alcohol, would be produced if bread-like cakes got wet and were left to rot?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

This is true, I don't know off hand what the process of the breakdowns of fats and proteins are, but I know that it is true. As for the second part, we did a lab on something like that, but I completely forget that because it was long ago. Hope I was helpful.

Hey!
Yeah first is true. Proteins->through transamination and oxidative deamination to pyruvate. Lipids->by lipase to fatty acids+glycerol->fatty acids through beta oxidation to acetyl CoA , glycerol to pyruvate.
Second question
Not sure CO2 and NAD+
