it is used to do processes to keep cell alive...
it is as ATP (I do not know why must Adenosin... next time i'll read more).
there is someone said 38 ATP some one else said 36 ATP...

hey it is used to do work...(e.g. active transport, cell movement, reproduction of cell)

so many example so that i do not know all.

I would say that the answer is A. Just remember "the second law of the thermodynamics: the law of enthropy"'ll get the answer from that law.. :D
Q: Why are chemists great for solving problems?
A: They have all the solutions.

now if I remember right....

Number of ATP(38 or 36) depends on shuttle that is used in transport of electrons from cytosol(remember glycolysis) to mitochondrion. Cause membrane of mitochondrion is impermeable to NADH, electrones are passed to NAD+ or FAD in mitochondrion. If they are passed to NAD+ 3ATP will be produced and if they are passed to FAD 2 ATP will be produced.

I would choose A too because what goes in must also goes out. Heat in food must also goes out as well
