Koch's postulates or De Barry's

Why do you suppose we use Koch's postulates instead of something called De Barry's?

Think you refer to Anton deBary? Not aware he had "postulates" per se - but he did show the fungal etiology for potato blight by using the then-innovative concept of an uninoculated control.
