water sampling

Post by michimichi » Fri Mar 23, 2012 11:55 pm

five people sampled 100 mL of water each from a single faucet at the same time and tested it for the presence of coliform. The water samples from the 3 people turned positive and the remaining 2 was negative.
How that happened?

Resarch what MPN testing is and apply to your situation. There is a very logical explanation. It involves statistics.
