How can response dose info b used in pharma.clinical study?

In case you dont know what I was asking in the subject titles the full thing that I meant to ask whicch cant fit there is "How can response-dose studies data be used in pharmaceutical clinical study?".Okay I know that the answer to this question might seem broad and obvious but I'm asking b/c I'm hoping that answers from this site's good people will help unlike google strangely.Thanks.
