Plant development...Check my answers please?

The aleurone layer of germinating barley can be isolated and studied for the induction of a- amylase, the enzyme that catalyzes starch hydrolysis. Predict the amount of a-amylase activity in aleurone layers to the following treatments:

1. incubation with gibberllic acic
2. incubation with auxin
3. incubation with gibberllic acid in the presence of an inhibitor of DNA transcription to mRNA
4. incubation without gibberllic acid
5. incubation w/o gibberellic acid in the presence of an inhibitor of transcription
6. incubation withgibberellic acid in the presence of an inhibitor of the proteasome
7. incubation w/o gibberellic acid in the presence of an inhibitor of the proteosome

My Answer: I said that 1 and 2 would have a significant amount of amylase while 3-7 would have an insignificant amount. Can anyone confirm if my answer is right? Thanks

yep, GA activates seed proteins, but I'm not sure about auxins.
If you inhibit transcription, overall level of all proteins will be decreased, but if you inhibit proteasome - degradative system for proteins, the levels will increase.
Thus I would say:
high levels 1, (2?), 6
middle level 7
low levels 3, 4, 5

Totally disagree with jack, do you even know the mechanism of of GA??? Only 1 should be producing the amylase.
