Using Satellite DNA for DNA profiling

Post by noobo4 » Sat Dec 31, 2011 3:45 pm

Hey

a short question: I read that Satellite DNA can't be used for DNA profiling, as it is just 'too large', in contrast to mini and micro satellites. Why is this the case? Is it just to difficult to amplify?

best regards,
