Allele Frequency and its relations to genetic variation

Hi. This is my first post here .. so bear with me ...

So i am stuck on one fundamental question about allele frequency and i cant seem get answer from anywhere.

During lecture, i learned that "evolution is change in allelic frequency in populations over time"

more so than genotype frequency or phenotype frequency.
I am aware that there are cases when allele frequency is altered, genotype won't and mulitple allele affecting more genetic variation

my question is is there more to it. or clearer answer to "evolution is change in allelic frequency in populations over time"

You've pretty much nailed it. There are going to be hundreds of definitions of the word, but the idea of definition to to make things simple. Since allele frequencies changing account for the genotype, phenotype and anything else. So long as you get this that's fine!
