Trees

Post by Freedom » Mon Aug 22, 2005 1:31 pm

Question:Just out of curiousity, when people go on 'Save the Trees' marches, is there a specific type of tree that they wish to save or is it trees in general? Thanks in advance :)

 I think its just trees in general.
Although they may be at a protest at a specific forest which contains a rare type of tree which they want to save, but generally they love all trees:D

Its like the Save the Animals protests. Against using animal testing in labs. They are against all testing on animals not just rabbits or monkeys or rats.

Rats, mice, whatever. Small furry creatures. Don't you live in Romania? A long way from rat infested NY.
Most cities have lots of rats and mice. But i bet NY has a lot :o

tree pharmacology

Post by ccljboy » Fri Aug 26, 2005 6:50 pm

did you know that 90% of medicines were derived from plants, and there are some alternative drugs that we know of that we arent even using EX: there is a chemicle in willow leaves that is equivelant to asprin, roguhly
knowledge gives us the right to make opinoins.
the opinoins of a fool are worthless, and make those that hear them foolish.

Yes Salycilic acic. Its name even come from the name of willow in latin. But it is much less efficient that its acetylated chemical counterpart that is found in aspirin. So botany and chemistry can combine to give us better drugs.

The number 90% (medicine is from plant) just exactly when you are in China (most of Chinese use herbal)
Most of medicine is from chemical, fungy, actinomyces and plant is a small group ...
