More energy to create ATP or ADP?

Post by anazisa » Fri Jan 07, 2011 6:55 am

Hello,

a seemingly rhetorical question, yet I can not see the reason (or the mechanics) behind it.

Does it take more energy to create ATP than the energy that is produced from making ADP from ATP?
(one of them have to be higher from the other, since transfer of energy into different types makes us lose some of usable energy)

Just to clarify, the question, written in another way is this:
Is there more energy used to create ATP from ADP than breaking down ATP to ADP?

-My guess is that it takes more energy to create ATP.-
