Unkown fungi on ceiling

Post by MichaelDJ » Wed Nov 17, 2010 8:42 am

Yesterday this unkown (unkown for me but hopefully not for one of you) came true my ceiling. Does someone know what kind of fungi this is? and also if it can harm my health?

I pointed out the signs of a leak on my ceiling (a couple of months ago before the fungi came out) to my landlord. The "infidel" didn't agree with me that it was a leak so he only redid the plaster (he thought that it were only some cracks in the ceiling). Last weak the signs of a leak came back and i called him to look at it. Again he didn't notice it as a leak, only as some cracks.
Maybe I can sue him for risking my health with his ignorance  . But that is something for another forum :D .

Thanking you in advance,

P.s. Excuse me for my grammatical / language faults. English isn't my native language.

Hola, I though that you had the normal fungi stain of walls with some humidity, but you have a real basidiomicetum fruit corp. Try to identificate the strain with internet images and eliminate it with gloves, but the apparition of a fruit corp means that inside the ceiling you have a micellium stucture wiyh will give fractifications every year as it occurs in the nature. so pick the ceilimg a bit and eliminate the mass where the fruit comes. let some hours a cotton with bleach, to destroy the net, let dry and cover again with plaster. Good luck

Or better show that to your landlord, and if he does not believe you that you have a humidity problem on which he should act promptly, then you probably have very sound reason to go to court or rental arbitration (depending where you live) and have him forced to repair.
