Cell Biology Question Help

Post by MXATC » Thu Oct 07, 2010 12:16 am

Would you expect metabolically active, isolated mitochondria to acidify or alkalize the medium in which they were suspended? Would your answer be different if you were working with submitochondrial particles rather than mitochondria? Why?

I can't find the answer in my reading. This is confusing.

What are the important ions for pH formation?
What are the link between those ions and active mitochondria?

Cis or trans? That's what matters.
