Simple C1 V1 question

Post by shanker » Sat Oct 02, 2010 2:24 am

Advance apologies for such a basic question. I think I am correct, but want to dbl check.... :D

I have a bacterial culture that I did a 10:1 dilution (100ul culture into 900ul 10mM MgSO4, blank = 100ul 2YT into 900ul 10mM MgSO4) ), read it on a spec and got .466 OD @600nm. I need 35 mls of the culture. I have to resuspend _at_ 1.0 OD. I need to figure the volume of buffer to resuspend after spinning down the 35 mls of culture.

C1 = 4.66 OD
V1 = 35 mls

C2 = 1.0 OD
V2 = ??

I calculated V2 to be 163.1 mls. Is this correct?

how much is 35*4.66? :roll: Yes, it is 163.1

BTW the units do not have plural :roll:

Cis or trans? That's what matters.
