Help Please! looking for a full list of endangered animals

Post by Vision » Thu Aug 04, 2005 3:25 pm

Hi,

Im looking for a FULL list that contains all the endangered and critically endangered status of mammals in the world.

Ive searched the IUCN and CITES website but cannot find a full list that states individually mammals status ie are they endangered or critically endangered.

Maybe im not searching effective enough but I cannot find it.

Can one know one is??

Thanks in advance for your help.

Have you searched under "The Red List"? I got the printed version of the complete list from "The Red List Book", but unfortunately not the latest one.

Yes I have had a looked at that, but I am only intrested in the mammals. But there is no way in filtering it so it only shows mammals species.

For the Red List, try searching for 'mammal', and modify it to 'contains'. Also, wikipedia has information and a few lists: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endangered#Endangered_mammals

wikipedia is always a great source....not that im endorsing it but....
also theres alot of "save the #######" type foundations that keep records like that. there seems to be one for everything(including fruits and nuts)
