Good site for definitions

Post by Ruby » Wed Jul 27, 2005 8:04 pm

No I am not trying to get anyone to do my summer assignment for me, but I am having trouble because our teacher gave us work out of an AP book and gave us regular biology books. Very few definitions are in the regular book and I have tried numerous searches on the internet to find the words. I have an idea of what the words mean , but not the full concept... does anyone know of a good website that has good ecology definitions?? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!!

Have you tried the dictionary on the site? It has a lot of terms, it may help you

Yes, I have... but there are some that aren't included in the dictionary. Is ecological time the same as ecologicial succession??

trying using the google search like this

define:ethanol

substituting your words in the place of "ethanol".

Also wikipedia is always a good source.

Yes I have one: The Dictionary of Biology by Abercrombie et al., from Penguin Books Ltd. England. A nice book and you do need that :)
