Cross-pollination -- Mendel

Post by winterie » Tue Mar 02, 2010 12:02 am

Hey, I'm currently repeating Mendel's experiment of sweet peas.
So far, I already know that my pea plants are purebred.
Now, I need to cross pollinate my pea plants.
However, the flowers' petals firmly enclose its ovary and stamen.
I don't want to rip them apart...because I might accidentally kill the plant.
How would I solve this problem?

Thanks :D

look up how the pea plant's sepals separate. chances are it isn't the appropriate time for them to do so, or that they aren't receiving the signal to open them.
