Linkage equilibrium vs. Linkage disequilibrium?

Post by noiseordinance » Sat Feb 13, 2010 10:45 pm

Hi there. I'm having a difficult time distinguishing the difference between basic genetic linkage and the whole linkage equilibrium vs. disequilibrium matter. Does anyone know any way of simplifying this subject, or is there another name for this concept? My Google / Youtube search results are not providing anything intuitive...

Thanks so much!

Is this not a commonly asked question? I've read equilibrium vs. disequilibrium in my book and it just doesn't make sense to me at all. Has anyone heard of this expression?
