jwalin are you sure? I think you may be misreading the question. It asks what proportion of the PURPLE flowers are true breeding. So since the purple flowers are split 1/3 PP, 1/3 Pp, and 1/3 pP, the answer is 1/3 as the original poster has said. If it was what proportion of all the flowers are true breeding, it would indeed be 1/2 or 50%.
