glucantime release

Post by marzieh » Thu Dec 31, 2009 5:59 am

I'm working on a drug delivery system for glucantime and my only choice for determination of drug release rate is UV-Visibley spectroscopy but there is a problem. Glucantime has a peak around 195 nm which shifts toward lower wavelengths by dilution. I can use pyrogallol reagen but I don't know which grade is suitable. Can anyone help me in this problem?

First, don't double your posts.

Second, the more pure, the better, of course, but also, the more expensive ;) You will probably need something like for molecular biology or something similar. Definitivelly at least p.a. ;)

But the change in peak wavelength is quite odd. Why should that change? Do you have some literature abut that?

Cis or trans? That's what matters.

No, unfortunately I hadn't found any literature on using UV spectroscopy for glucantime without pyrogallol. Some one says that It's because of hydrogen bonidng by H2O or complex formation. Please help me. I'm so confused.

So, how do they find out the concetration in the literature?

by other methods like ICP-OES or atomic absorption
