Question about neuron oxygen consumption

Post by mikezburke » Wed Dec 30, 2009 10:36 pm

Hi - I am an engineering student who is trying to model some neurons in microfluidic devices.

I have searched web of science - with minimal luck. I am trying to find how much oxygen a human neuron would consume, along with what factors would cause that to vary (and by how much).
I am very new to biology, and am learning as I go. Any ideas that you guys have would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
Mike

What kind of device? are you actually growing neurons inside?
