Two questions about physiology lab?

Post by nafas » Wed Nov 18, 2009 5:59 pm

Hi
In frog muscle tetanization experiment:
1.Why do we see incomplete tetanization then the complete tetanization?
2. What will happen if we continue stimulating the frog muscle while it is in a complete tetanization?
Thanks in advance

1.The stimulations in incomplete tetanization are made in the phase of relaxation of the muscle. Those in complete tetanization are made in the phase of contraction of the answer of previous stimulation. So it depends - you can see the full tetanization first.
2.You will have a continuous contraction of the muscle and if you picture it with a diagram it's going to be a straight line.
