Cross Bridge Formation

Post by ArsenalV17btk » Fri Oct 23, 2009 6:35 pm

This was on a my last animal physiology test and I got it incorrect but I disagree with my professor, so I was hoping to get some other opinions.

Regulation of cross-bridge formation is accomplished by

a. tropomyosin
b. troponin
c. calcium ions
d. A and B
e. A, B, and C

I'd have to say e) A, B, C

Although you might get by saying calcium is the true regulator, its really calcium's presence and its interaction with troponin that allows tropomyosin to moved off the actin binding site.
