24. or more realistically 16 if you have 8 hours sleep.

Humans being able to fly - how? if we grow wings, we would be more like a bird or a bat. And the way obesity is going today, some people would never get off the ground.

It may be easier to just give us better vision or hearing. Night vision would be cool.
It's always funny until someone gets hurt. Then it's just hilarious.

We should be content with our ability to create technology for these sorts of things

Perhaps one days only the human could be flying or other extraodinary things to be done. But not now, it should not realistic but who know for the future. What i mean is the genes perhaps one days will be changing to a greater and better or active our inactive genes which we have it insige our body.
For the energy to flying, mithrilhack said many hours you can spend eating each day, it should be more than 1/2day or 12 hours or perhaps more than that.

You understand what I mean don't you? Eating is how we get our energy. There's a limit to how much energy we can get from food. We don't have hollow bones and our body size is much too large for us to fly, especially without wings. Don't hold your breath.

In the movie and comic series the ridiculous plot has them exposed to cosmic radiation. Instead of killing them they gain genetic anomalies which produce impossible powers like having your core temperature the same as the sun. Yet I pose a question could a string of anomalies occur like my own to create a person who was similar to Mr. Fantastic. I believe that its far fetched but would some kind of gene allow for malleable bones and that coupled with the collagen defect create a person as flexible as Mr. Fantastic?

Extremely unlikely. Always a possibilty but the factors would have to be considered:

-How far can Mr.Fantastic stretch?
-All bloodvessels would need to stretch without causing extremely high blood pressure (thats a super power too i guess)
-The control would need the nervous system intervention with constant connection to the brain
-btw. How far can you stretch?

Its certainly not an anomalie that could be cause by one gene and when you get more than one gene added or taken away it tends to be rather catastrophic. So it would have to be an alteration of all the collagen genes, of the bones, and of the organs like the heart. So Yes I guese it would be next to impossible. But not completely . Who knows what is and isn't possible.
