Please!!!! some one tell me what this is!!!

I found this in a tidal pool on a barrier island in south carolina
it feels like the consistency of a sea cucumber
it has multple small holes that apear to be excreting waste

Hm, its perhaps a sea sponge, not sure though. Have you tried cutting it to see cross-section?

Sponges typically have pores or holes through which they pump water. This thing, if indeed it is a thing, has nothing. I'm not convinced it's an animal of any kind. Where was it found? The best way to find out for sure is to cut it open. If it's the same consistency throughout it's probably something that has been emitted by an organism, but I shudder to think what.
