You are right it is an Orbweaver, it's specifically a European Garden Spider also known as a Cross Spider for the white cross that often appears on the back of the abdomen. Yours has a very distinctive cross pattern on it, they don't always have that, but the white marks through the center are always uniquely present on this species of spider. It is a native to Europe, but have naturalized in many places around the globe, Including North America.
