Toxoplasmosis testing and false positives

Post by gkec » Sat Mar 28, 2009 9:10 am

Hi there,

I have a couple of questions abouthe the above and would greatly appreciate some info.

What are the causes of false positives in these tests - is it a statistical problem? How is a fasle positive resolved? Further, if someone has already tested negative to current and past infection are they less likely to encounter a false positive issue in taking the same test again?

Thanks.
