Standing/Walking Times of Wildlife

Post by LittleBeaver » Thu Jan 22, 2009 3:45 pm

Does anyone know of any in depth research that has been done regarding the differences influencing the time it takes after birth for wildlife to stand/walk. I'm particularly interested in ungulates as compared with other eutherians. I'm looking for any kind of developmental differences during gestation that enable a more developed muscular/nervous system...or if anyone knows of other mechanisms driving this ablility. Any input would be appreciated.
