Okay, I'll say what I know or what I think I know. Do tell me if I say something wrong. So chromosomes are condensed pieces of DNA, right? And chromosomes have a number of genes. And chromosomes from mom and dad have the same genes, but have different alleles. Do chromosomes control a number of traits; I mean they do have several genes, right? So the hair color gene and the eye color gene (just as a simplified example)could be on one chromosome?

Yes they could(although there is no one gene that control eye color or hair color, there are multiple). But you seem to have things figured out.
