DNA Replication

Post by djricci23 » Tue Nov 25, 2008 9:17 pm

I have search my book, my notes and various web sites, but have not found an answer I completly understand.

Q. Which one of these is responsible for the exact replication of DNA?

DNA ligase, DNA polymerase, Meiosis or RNA.

Can any one help?
Thanks in advance

I wish the answer was simple. We have not covered those enzemes. I have re-read all notes, pages of the book and as stated above I do not come up with an answer.

In mitosis it is replicated in the s stage of interphase.

Tips:

Look up the differences between mitosis and meiosis

look up what RNA is

Look up those enzymes

This is straight forward, it should be quite simple to find the answer.

Ok I am pretty sure its DNA polymerase, because DNA polymerase is responsible for adding on the individual nucleotides to each of the sides of the DNA strip that has been split.
