I think your book is broken, I count 16, 2*2*1*4= 16 since each codon is independent.

you typed it wrong, you wrote try which I thought you meant tyrosine but you wrote W which meant it was tryptophan since the 3 letter code for W is trp not try. in which case it is 8. I think that might be the case in your other post also in which the answer would be 12.
