Ideas for a Bio Project

Post by BioPio07 » Sun Nov 09, 2008 3:54 am

Hello. I was wondering if someone could give me ideas about a project I can do. I have to observe something in nature... Any ideas?
I was thinking observing ant trials lol.

In a recent experiment, scientists tested ant affinity for sugar vs salt. Turns out as you get more and more inland, away from the sea, salt affinity increases. Care to demonstrate?

Cool experiment, but you would have to get ants from two locations. Might be difficult if your in midwest. I suppose you could mail order. Then there would be the question of soil, NaCl in the air, percipitation, plant types. That would be a tough one to pull off, as there are so many variables.
