Energy/Enzymes & Photosynthesis

Post by xanniesofly » Mon Oct 27, 2008 2:43 am

I'm actually new to this. I found it through google. Thinking it might actually help me with Biology since I such with it. :] Hopefully, you guys can help me out here.

I have a few questions! I've tried to find the answers in my textbook and lab manual, but I couldn't find any answers -- either that or I didn't understand it. So please, if you know the answers, let me know! I have a test tomorrow and these two chapters are kicking my butt!

Energy and Enzymes:
1. What are some examples of systems with high and low entropy?
2. What are some examples of endergonic and exergonic reactions?
3. What are some examples of anabolic and catabolic pathways?
4. What happens to an enzyme with extreme high and low temperatures?
5. How does an enzyme catalyze biochemica reaction?
6. Do all enzymes need cofactors and coenzymes?

Photosynthesis:
1. From the colors of visible spectrum, which colors do we see, absorbed or reflected?
2. What is the basic reaction of photosynthesis?
3. What is the first event in photosynthesis?
4. What are the reactants and products of the light-dependent reactions?
5. What is the flow of hydrogen ions called?
6. What are the reactants and products of the light-independent reactions?
7. Where do the reactants of light-independent reactions come from?
8. What is the most abundant enzyme in the world? (Rubisco?)
9. What molecule needs to be present to begin the Calvin-Benson cycle? (ATP?)
10. Do all plants show same pathways of photosynthesis? Why or why not?
11. What other pathways of photosynthesis can be seen in plants?

If these questions can be answered in a way I can understand them tonight, thank you so much!

I have tried to google like majority of these questions. They don't make sense to me. They give me stuff about it, but I don't understand it. I need someone to actually explain in detail step by step. :/ Sorry if I'm making it harder on you guys.

You just have to take a look at any biology textbook even not specialised. And you'll find out all answers to whese questions. If you will not understand what is said in the textbook you wouldn't get what is said here. Just think about what are you reading and you'll succeed.

Look for the key terms. Example, catabolism - figure out what that means and then look up examples on google. To be honest I forget some of this stuff, it has been a while. But if you are asked these specific questions then you must of been given the resources. So stop being lazy!
