How do you get a name like "killer whale?" Killer whales are one of the top predators in the sea. As a group, killer whales are known to eat fish, squid, seals, sea lions, penguins, even other whales. But, keep in mind, it would be difficult for a killer whale off the coast of California to eat a penguin. Killer whales eat the food (or prey) that's available to them. For example, a killer whale that lives in the northern Pacific can hunt harbor seals, California sea lions, and a variety of fish. A killer whale in the Antarctic could find Weddell seals, leopard seals, and penguins! Researchers studying killer whales in the Pacific Northwest have found that some pods feed primarily on fish and others seem to prefer marine mammals. A killer whales uses its sharp teeth to catch its prey. Killer Whales are toothed whales (odontocetes).

From what I know, they generally run away from humans, but i wouldn't go swimming with an orca... Just to be on the safe side :D

Do orcas eat people? I don't think they do. Lots of them have been trained and used in marine park shows. You can even ride them. They're really friendly. In the wild they'll only bother you if you bother them. Like most wild animals, really.

Ever watch 'Free Willy'?

(I hate that movie...How could they make a second one???)

In general, no they do not eat people... But if you try to ride them in the wild there's a pretty good chance of them injuring you

Killer whales work together to kill other whales too, they're pretty ravaging.

Ok..ok thanks for the answers...oh yes..what b_d_41501 said was true..they have made it until three sequels..
Um, I've ever watched one other documentaries also..it's said that in the earlier world there're the real killer whale (the colour is different from orca and most of them are not colonies). This whale has a bigger body from orca (almost two times) and it can kill other whale (I think it's called Duradon) by itself...is it the ancentor of the Orcas?
