Reproduction

Post by Maruko » Wed Aug 13, 2008 8:05 pm

Hi,

I remember learning that the site of gamete release and excretion of urine is the same for males. In this case, it will be called the urethra. What about females? Females excrete their urine through the urethra too but where does sperm enter to reach the uterine lining where implantation of zygote take place?

Once the egg is fertilized by the sperm and become a zygote, is the zygote released at the same site as the entrance of sperm?

Thanks in advance!

Maruko

A bit of anatomy would be helpful:

Yes, I agree with DoctorStein. In females, the vaginal opening is different from the urethral opening. Anyway, the sites recommended are really helpful so you just check them out.
