Can you fart in your sleep? Saying it in other words, is farting a voluntary or an involuntary action?

I remember reading about this somewhere before... On Yahoo Answers maybe.
The consensus there was that yes, its possible for people to release gas in their sleep.

of course it is. If you eat a lot of beans and then go to sleep, when you wake up there will be quite a smell in the room...

Both, but there isnt so much you can do about a overload - you'll have to accept that it will come out, soner or later, whether you want it or not.
