Lack of sleep and giggling

Post by Madeline » Thu Jun 21, 2007 7:20 am

I have trouble sleeping at times, and realise that when I am behind on my sleep I begin to giggle often. I giggle and laugh at things that aren't normally funny. Is there a reason for this?

I am just guessing here, but perhaps as a person becomes tired or fatigued, their breathing rate lowers as well as overall oxygen intake. Maybe this can result in a mild form of hypoxia.
Lack of oxygen to the brain may cause one to behave in a silly manner.
