im really really really confused, but then talking with dr stein does that to you.

anyway!
a question came up on a test the other day, ( please note that i have dont the test i am not cheating here) and i couldnt answer it, i just had no idea the queston was this:

what is homestasis?
name some factors in humans that are under homeostatic control,
the person who can answer it gets a free cookie!!!!

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rls= ... n&ct=title

blood pressure, glucose levels, sodium/potassium levels, pCO2/pO2, pH, glycogen/glycogenolysis, almost anything to do with hormones. . .

negative feedback also exists at the gene expression to protein level, which extends beyond just hormones.

negative feedback is a response to something going over a set point....it helps control homeostasis...........negative feedback is seen with glucose levels, calcium levels, and the release of sweat in response to body temperature

Positive feedback system can also play a part in homeostasis - for instance blood clotting. If you cut yourself you bleed - to stop bleeding you clot.

Homeostasis - Regulation of the physical and chemical factors of the internal
environment

the factors are temperature, blood pressure, osmotic pressure, and sugar level. I think there are more but i can't remember.

For negative feedback mechanism, it reverse back the condition u are in.
For example when u r having a fever, the body will do negative feedback mechanism to get better. So we can conclude that, negative feedback mechanism gets ur body to normal condition for optimum body process.
