DNA extraction

Hi, I need some advice on DNA extraction from protozoan, I am using trizol, but it doesn't seem to work after I add the 100% ethanol (I don't have a pellet). please help! thanks :?

The TRIzol kit from Invitrogen--if that's what you're using--is for RNA not DNA extraction, but I assume you meant RNA. If you really meant DNA, you're probably using the wrong kit.

For RNA work, be sure your tubes etc. are certified to be free of nucleases and/or treat everything with DEPC. You won't necessarily see a whopping precipitate. I'd carry the sample through to the end and check the OD and maybe run some on a gel.
